Trafalgar Square

Well we rugged up well for the cold wind today and headed off to have a look at the shops in the city, but they are all closed on Saturday! So off to Trafalgar SquareBulleted ListThere were so many people and they are all tourists - not many English speaking around. We went into the National Gallery and saw some of the classics by Gainsborough, Turner, Cezanne, Monet and VanGough. A HUGE art gallery! I struggled to get Craig out, he was enjoying it so much?!?!?!? There is something on there tonight as most of the square was being prepared for some "event". Stages and areas were being set up while we were there.

Then off on the "underground" to Harrods, they are open every day. We bought presents for everyone - NOT. But had a good look around.

We decided to walk back to the apartment and went past "The Monument". It's another really tall stone tower with intricate gold work on the top, and the base has decorative carvings. It was designed to commorate the great fire.We walked home from here along the Thames walk. We walked past the Tower of London and over the Tower bridge again. I think that is nearly my favourite pat of London that I have seen while we have been here.

We are off to the pub for a pint (well at least Craig will be having a pint) and enjoy our last night here. We have organised a car to take us to the airport as we have to leave here at 5am to catch our plane to Amsterdam. Didn't fancy the underground at that hour
